Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is a second layer of security that provides account protection.
In addition to the basic login and password authentication system, 2FA requires the user to provide a second factor to verify their authenticity.
If 2FA is connected, to log into the account, the user must provide a username and password and enter a one-time code from a special code generation application (Google Authenticator).
Using the AWEX account as an example, let's connect two-factor authentication from Google.
1. Register or log in to your awex.pro account. Click on the profile icon in the top right corner and select Settings.
2. Click "Bind Google 2FA" under "2nd Authorization Factor."
3. Grab your smartphone and go to the app store:
3.1 Search for the Google Authenticator app and install it. Download and install the app on your mobile device. Once the app is installed, click "Next" to continue. 3.2. A QR code will then appear on your screen.
3.3. Save the backup key on a piece of paper. This key will allow you to restore your Google Authenticator in case you lose your phone.
3.4. Confirm your Google Authenticator on the website to activate two-factor authentication.
4. Open the Google Authenticator app, click the "+" button in the bottom right corner of the screen and scan the QR code with AWEX or paste the copied code manually. Then click "Next."
Enter the six-digit code on the AWEX website. Then click on the Link button.
Congratulations, you have successfully linked Google Authenticator to protect your account.
