Fraudsters used similar spellings of English and Russian characters. Or they changed the letter "o" to the number "0". This allowed them to create company doppelgangers in Telegram and commit fraud under the guise of our company.
We realized that we needed to change something to prevent such cases forever. That's why we decided to change the name of the service.
We set ourselves the goal of choosing a new name that would be impossible to "fake" using similar symbols, and that no one would be able to repeat.
After several days of thought and discussion, we managed to come up with a short and modern name - AWEX. These four letters became our new brand and a key step in the fight against fraudsters.
Now comes the fun part! To secure our new name from fraudulent copies, we bought domains from Telegram for >5000 TON each for all our products and directions, bought a 4-letter domain for the website and the name on all information platforms.
Now you can be sure that only @awex domain is official in Telegram and other services.
What have we realized after the name change?
First, scammers are not ready to spend $10-20 thousand to acquire a similar name.
Secondly, a short and sounding name is easier for our users to remember and search for. Agree, it is convenient.
Thus, AWEX has become our new name and brand, which we are developing every day, and I can say for sure that we don't encounter company look-alikes anymore. We continue to provide quality service to our customers without fear of such occurrences.
